Aggression in the east of Ukraine, temporary occupation of Crimea, as well as the unresolved conflict in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova – this is an incomplete list of illegal actions from russia, which pose a serious threat not only to Ukraine, but also to Europe as a whole.
The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Khmelnytsky condemns russia’s recognition of pseudo-republics and supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
The recognition of the separatist regions of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine is a gross violation of international law. And the introduction of armed forces into Ukraine is nothing less than a clear undermining of its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
We call on russia to choose the path of diplomacy and to withdraw its military forces from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and to refrain from further military action.
