On August 2, Mykola Skrypkovskiy, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova in Khmelnytsky, paid a friendly visit to Warsaw where he had a meeting with Maciej Karasinski, General Director of the Foreign Service at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is the second visit of the consul since the beginning of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.
“I have always known that the Polish people are a model of true solidarity. The Ukrainian flags on the streets of Polish cities, the gestures of kindness and friendliness that I experienced from the first minutes after arriving in Warsaw – it’s all very touching,” shared his impressions of the trip by Mykola Skrypkovskiy.
Maciej Karasinski welcomed the honored guest inside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and noted that a new history of Ukrainian-Polish relations is being built: the history of our struggle, our success, our unity and common European future.
During the discussions, the Polish-Ukrainian relations of friendship and prospects for future cooperation with the Honorary Consulate of Khmelnytsky were discussed. The interlocutors paid special attention to assistance for Ukrainian citizens, particularly those who were forced to leave their homes and are temporarily in Poland.
Mykola Skrypkovskiy told about the work of the Honorary Consulate during hostilities: “The consulate performs its functions, providing assistance to all foreign nationals without exception. With our own transport we help with the evacuation to the Republic of Moldova. Every day we receive many phone calls from citizens of Ukraine, Moldova and other states. We cooperate with foreign representatives of the states on the territory of Ukraine, in particular with Khmelnytsky city branch of the Polish Union in Ukraine”.
Mr. Skrypkovskiy thanked his Polish colleague and presented the highest award of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Khmelnytsky – the Golden Lion Order. “It is a great honor for me to work with you. Thank you for your visit on May 31 in this difficult time for our country, for your friendship and cordiality, for your unconditional support. Please accept this award as a sign of sincere admiration and deep gratitude for the assistance provided to the Honorary Consulate and for the significant contribution to the development of interstate cooperation.”
Mr. Consul also handed Maciej Karasinski gifts from the Republic of Moldova and an invitation to visit this picturesque region. Mr. Karasinski presented Mykola Skripkovskyy with souvenirs from Poland.
The meeting was held in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Mykola Skrypkovskiy thanked for the hearty welcome and said that he would be happy to see Mr. Karasinsky again as a guest of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Khmelnytsky and would definitely give him a tour of the pearl of Ukraine – Podillya.
