On January 13, the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Khmelnytsky was visited by an extremely distinguished guest – His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epifani.
At the meeting were present Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova Mykola Skrypkovskyi, Secretary of the Honorary Consulate Anna Marchuk and Bishop of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Reverend Pavlo.
The sides communicated on the topic of religion. During the debate the diplomatic relations between Moldova and Ukraine were discussed. Mykola Skrypkovskyi shared his impressions about his recent visit to this rich cultural heritage of the country, and talked about the sights of Moldova.
At the end of the conversation the Primate of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine invited Mr. Skrypkovskyi to attend his residence.
The meeting was held in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The parties agreed to keep in touch and exchanged commemorative gifts. Metropolitan Epifani made a memorable entry in the Book of Honorary Guests of the Consulate.
Later a solemn assembly was held on the occasion of the visit of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine to Khmelnytsky, which was attended by people’s deputies, Chairman of Khmelnytsky Regional State Administration Sergiy Gamaliy, Chairman of Khmelnytsky Regional Council Violeta Labaziuk and other officials.
Metropolitan Epifani presented Mykola Skrypkovskyi with one of the highest awards of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine – the Order of Saint Archistratigus Michael of the first degree and a diploma “For services to the Local Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the pious people”.
“Thank you sincerely for such a high distinction. It is a great honor for me to receive it personally from your hands,” emphasized the Honorary Consul.
