On March 25, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova in Ukraine Valeriu Civier had an official meeting with the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova in Khmelnytsky region Mykola Scrypkovskyy, the head of the regional military administration Sergiy Gamaliy and the head of the regional council Violeta Labaziuk.
This is the first visit of the ambassador to the city of Khmelnytsky since he was appointed to this high post by the Government of Moldova.
The officials discussed effective cooperation to help internally displaced people during russia’s military aggression against Ukraine.
The head of the regional military administration, Sergiy Gamaliy, expressed his gratitude for the support of Ukraine, Khmelnytsky region and the citizens of our country in Moldova. He spoke about the situation in the region and the measures taken by the leadership to provide citizens with everything they need. Also the head of administration urged foreign business to invest in Ukraine and in our region, because now there are ideal conditions for this, namely: the tax burden on business has been lowered, checks of all kinds have been canceled, the state gives credits for business under 0% and guarantees all-round support.
The chairman of the regional council Violeta Labaziuk also thanked for help and support of migrants from Ukraine and emphasized that because of the russian aggression, our state in general and Khmelnytsky, in particular, needs further help through humanitarian support.
Mykola Skrypkovskiy reported about the work of the Honorary Consulate and the assistance provided by citizens during the hostilities: “The consulate performs its functions by assisting all foreign nationals without exception. With our own transport we help with the evacuation to the Republic of Moldova. Every day we receive many phone calls from citizens of Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and other countries. We cooperate with the missions of foreign states in Ukraine, who suspended their activities and help them to restore their work. On March 23 I addressed all foreign missions in Ukraine with an invitation to visit Khmelnytsky region.
In his turn, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Valeriu Civier noted that Moldova will continue to provide all necessary support for Ukraine and wished the Ukrainian people endurance and victory. He also mentioned that due to the military events in Ukraine, Moldova will strengthen its army and defense capabilities, because a strong army is the guarantee of peace and stability of every country.
