On September 3 the meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova in Ukraine Ruslan Bolbocean and the Mayor of Khmelnytsky Oleksandr Symchyshyn took place. Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Ukraine Daniela Turkanu and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova in Khmelnytsky region Mykola Skrypkovskyi also joined.
Moldovan-Ukrainian relations of friendship and prospects for future cooperation were discussed. The question of deepening of interaction at a level of local authorities between twin-cities Khmelnytsky and Balti, especially an exchange of experience in the struggle against Covid-19 and in trade-economic and humanitarian cooperation was raised.
Honorary Consul Mykola Skrypkovskyi in the course of the conversation mentioned the meeting with Mr. Symchyshyn two years ago. At that time the question of opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Khmelnytsky region was raised. Since then, the mayor in every way contributed to the acceleration of this event. Mr. Skrypkovskyi expressed his gratitude to the Khmelnytsky City Council and personally to Chairman Oleksandr Symchyshyn.
The opening of the Honorary Consulate in the Khmelnytsky region will allow to expand interaction between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, as well as between Khmelnytsky and Balti in the socio-economic, humanitarian and cultural spheres.
“Now we have the opportunity to interact more qualitatively and quickly at local levels and help our citizens,” – Skrypkovskyi stressed.
