More than a year ago, the idea arose to invite a large contingent of heads of diplomatic institutions accredited in Ukraine to the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Khmelnytskyi. The purpose of this event is to popularize our region (city development, economic, tourist and investment projects).
Previously, there was an idea to create a small diplomatic center in the city of Khmelnytskyi. But from the beginning of February 24, 2022, full-scale Russian aggression made its adjustments. But, despite everything, we believe that all this is done.
Therefore, on March 3, 2023, the first Khmelnytskyi Diplomatic Forum took place.
First of all, I would like to thank Valery Kiver, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to Ukraine, for his support in the organization.
The event began with a visit to Khmelnytskyi OVA, where Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of foreign countries were present, namely:
– Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova Valeriu Chiveri,
– Ambassador of Romania Alexandru Viktor Mikula,
– Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Volodymyr Karapetyan,
– Ambassador of Georgia Giorgiy Zakarashvili,
– Ambassador of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Idris Kadyrkulov,
– Ambassador of Slovenia Tomaz Menchin,
– Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan Davlatali Nazrizoda,
– Ambassador of Turkey Yagmur Ahmet Guldere.
By the way, this is the largest simultaneous visit of foreign heads of diplomatic institutions to Khmelnytskyi. During this meeting, everyone had the opportunity to meet and talk with Serhii Gamalii, the head of Khmelnytskyi OVA. The meeting was also attended by: deputy of Zhytomyr OVA Viktor Gradivskyi, head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Council Violeta Labaziuk, People’s Deputies of Ukraine Serhiy Mandziy, Serhiy Labaziuk and Mykola Stefanchuk. Then the honored and highly respected guests went to the official reception at the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in the city of Khmelnytskyi.
The reception was attended by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Bankov, Bishop Pavlo of Khmelnytskyi and Kamianets-Podilskyi and Bishop of the RCC Vladyka Leon.
The guests were given a short tour of the consulate and introduced to interesting art exhibitions.
Discussing business problems, Mykola Skrypkovskyi emphasized the importance of such events for our country at the present time and thanked everyone for their support and interest in the development and popularization of our region.
Afterwards, all distinguished guests were presented with gifts and hospitality from Moldova. The most important event of the day was the presentation of the Honorary Medal “STEPHAN III THE GREAT” by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova Mykola Skrypkovskyi. In particular, it was received by:
– State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Bankov,
– Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova Valeriu Chiveri,
– Ambassador of Romania Alexandru Viktor Mikula,
– Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Volodymyr Karapetyan,
– Ambassador of Georgia Giorgiy Zakarashvili,
– Ambassador of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Idris Kadyrkulov,
– Ambassador of Slovenia Tomaz Menchin,
– Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan Davlatali Nazrizoda,
– and Turkish Ambassador Yagmur Ahmet Guldere.
In turn, Mr. Mykola Skrypkovsky also received gifts from foreign delegations and guests of the event, for which he was pleasantly surprised and sincerely grateful.
At the Khmelnytskyi Diplomatic Forum, first of all, plans for future long-term cooperation within the framework of the planned projects were discussed. Also, everyone noted the expediency of such meetings and considered the possibility of annual events of a similar format and content.
Our little diplomatic victory!
Glory to Ukraine!
