Today, June 6, Ukraine celebrates the professional holiday of mass media workers – the Day of Journalist.
Independent media organizations are the keystone of civil society and democratic state. It is impossible to overestimate the contribution of Ukrainian journalists in the momentous changes that have been taking place in our country.
Freedom of speech is one of our fundamental values. The modern world is changing rapidly, with changing forms of communication and journalists’ working methods. But for all those who engage with public opinion, there must always be a shared understanding of their own real power and the importance of being objective and unbiased in their work.
Today Ukrainian journalists work side by side with soldiers, officers, and volunteers to protect Ukraine from the invasion of russian troops, defend our freedom, and successfully counteract unprecedented forms and methods of russian propaganda.
I express my gratitude to all journalists for their high professional level, active and consistent civic position, and ability to always be in the center of things. I wish you to enjoy your favorite work, inspiration, implementation of outstanding media projects, and professional growth!
