On this day, February 26, 2014, a mass rally of Crimean Tatars and pro-Ukrainian activists in support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, organized by the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, took place in Simferopol under the building of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
At the call of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, thousands of activists and concerned citizens joined the event. On that day, Ukrainians managed to peacefully prevent an extraordinary session of the parliament and review of the status of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea as part of Ukraine. Since then, February 26 has become a symbol of resistance to occupation for Ukraine. This occupation is still going on! We believe that Crimea will return to Ukraine in the near future.
The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova, Mykola Skrypkovsky, joins in commemorating the courage and heroism of the citizens of Ukraine who live in the temporarily occupied territory – in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol – and on February 26, 2014, went to a rally in Simferopol in support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Because Crimea is Ukraine!
