On the night of July 6, all over Ukraine there is magic – the celebration of Ivan Kupala. Hundreds years ago our ancestors wove wreaths of flowers, jumped over a bonfire and went to the woods to look for the mystical flower of the fern. The holiday symbolizes man’s connection with nature and the transition to the summer cycle.
Summer is a time of bloom, sun and renewal, a time of new hopes and miracles. Today all of us need to believe in miracles and in the victory of light.
Thus may the magical fire of Kupala give strength to fight and win, and keep evil away, protect and purify. May the morning sun, washed with dew, bring peace to Ukraine, and its defenders, our Heroes, return to their homes. May prosperity and harmony reign in every family.
Happy Ivan Kupala Day!
